BACKGROUND
Martin is responsible for the enterprise section of IT Week.
Martin has worked as an IT journalist since 1995, starting by covering LAN and WAN technology for Network Solutions before moving on to write about PCs and peripherals for PC Advisor in 1997 and PC Direct in 1998. He joined IT Week in late 2000, first editing the Network section then becoming the Editor of Network IT Week from February 2004 to December 2006.
Prior to becoming a journalist, Martin worked as a systems support analyst, installing small client-server networks in GP surgeries, delivering PC and software training courses to medical staff, and providing support for PCs, servers and bespoke medical applications. He also worked in the Home Office's research and statistics department, compiling programs to derive specific statistics from the Immigration and Nationality database and writing quarterly and bi-annual reports detailing immigration trends.
